Overview
The women’s volleyball graduate assistant is responsible for assisting in all aspects of a competitive women’s collegiate volleyball program to include successfully organizing and implementing a recruiting/retention plan, integrating the program into the campus community, developing a vibrant summer camp program, supervising practice/contests, management of program budget, fundraising to support program and supporting student-athlete success.
Key Responsibilities and Duties- Assist in directing all aspects of the women’s volleyball program including, practice, competition, fundraising.
- Assist in developing and implementing an effective recruitment program, in coordination with Hiram College Admission's Office, to attract outstanding student-athletes.
- Adhere to all policies, rules and regulations of the Hiram College Athletic Department, the NCAA.
- Provide guidance and support to student-athletes towards achieving their greatest potential both academically and athletically.
- Monitor class schedules, grades and student-athlete academic progress.
- Contribute to the fundraising activities for women’s volleyball program.
- Assist the head coach in the development and operation of a successful summer camp program.
- Participate in the Annual Day with Hiram Golf Outing.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and guests of the college
- Attention to detail and good time management, organizational and prioritization skills
- Knowledge of all NCAA Division III rules
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License
- First Aid, AED & CPR certification required.
- Microsoft Word
- Excel
- Experience with Front Rush
- Proficient with all forms of social media
- Collegiate volleyball recruiting experience preferred.
- Summer Camp/Club experience preferred.
- Collegiate competitive experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Acceptance into the Hiram College MAIS Graduate Program or Sports Management Graduate program required for consideration
