Athletics Coordinator

Overview

Youth Challenge, a nonprofit organization based in Westlake, Ohio, is excited to announce an opening for an Athletics Coordinator.

Youth Challenge specializes in adapted sports and recreational programming for children, teens, and young adults with physical disabilities. Our mission is to build confidence, inclusion, and community through meaningful athletic and recreational experiences.

• Managing adapted sports and recreation programs, with a primary focus on adaptive Team Sports
• Coaching and teaching children and teen volunteers in a wide array of sports and recreational activities
• Collaborating with families, community partners, and staff
• Ensuring program safety, quality, and inclusivity
• Assisting in personal care for people with disabilities
• Providing transportation by operating ADA accessible vehicles (large vans)
• Supporting Youth Challenge’s mission and values

This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about sports, youth development, coaching, physical activity, and nonprofit work; who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven, team-first environment. Specific experience in adaptive sports and recreation, specific to people with physical disabilities, is not a prerequisite for consideration. Adequate training in adaptive sport will be provided.
