What You’ll Work On

The team is building a new data platform for non–master data domains and enhancing capabilities to support future merger and acquisition activity as legacy systems are decommissioned. Engineers will also continue to expand and optimize enterprise Kafka and API services.

Role Description

You will join one of several Agile crews and contribute to the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure APIs and streaming services. This role requires strong backend engineering skills and experience working with sensitive customer data in large environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot
• Build and support Kafka-based data streaming services
• Work with JSON and standard HTTP methods
• Deploy containerized services using Docker and Open Shift
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, and Maven or Gradle
• Integrate APIs with Apigee or similar API management tools
• Ensure API security, performance, and reliability
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and production support

Required Experience

• 5+ years of Java and Spring Boot development
• Hands‑on experience with Kafka
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design
• Experience with CI/CD tools, Docker, and Open Shift
• Exposure to Apigee or similar API platforms
• Strong debugging, problem‑solving, and communication skills

Preferred Background

• Experience in banking, healthcare, or retail environments
• Experience working with personal or sensitive data
