Quality Assurance Test Engineer

We’re looking for an early-in-career QA Test Engineer to join a collaborative team focused on delivering high-quality software solutions. This position is with our Fortune 200 retail client and has been a staple in Cleveland for generations.

You’ll work closely with developers, QA leads, and project managers to ensure robust testing practices and automation coverage across multiple applications.

• Design, write, and execute manual and automated test cases (approx. 25% manual,
• Manage test cases using Zephyr in Jira.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Java, Selenium, and BDD frameworks such as Gherkin or Cucumber.
• Perform API testing with tools like Postman and Rest Assured.
• Collaborate with developers to review code, merge automation workflows, and ensure test coverage.
• Use Git Hub for source control and Git Hub Actions for automation triggers.
• Troubleshoot issues, update scripts, and ensure all tests pass before deployment.
• Work with mentors and QA leads for feedback and continuous improvement.

• Strong experience in test automation (Java/Selenium preferred, but open to any programming language).
• Willingness to learn and grow within the position, the team, and the QA environment.
• Familiarity with BDD frameworks (Gherkin/Cucumber).
• Hands‑on experience with API testing (Postman, Rest Assured).
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools like Jira.
• Ability to work independently, research solutions, and ask the right questions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to integrate with a busy team.
