The Metro Health System is redefining health care by going beyond medical treatment to improve the foundations of community health and well-being: affordable housing, a cleaner environment, economic opportunity and access to fresh food, convenient transportation, legal help and other services. The system strives to become as good at preventing disease as it is at treating it. Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County's safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.
Summary:Serves as Metro Health's "eyes and ears" in the cities and neighborhoods it serves. Engages regularly with local elected officials, community organizations and other stakeholders to identify issues that will impact The Metro Health System, to develop innovative ways for Metro Health to engage with residents and other stakeholders and to build goodwill for the System. Provides special attention to and emphasis on matters that impact health and social determinants of health.
Maintains a presence at community meetings and constantly engages with the community to learn which issues are important, then develops ways that Metro Health can address them directly or in its role as a community convener. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The Metro Health System.
