Building Maintenance, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Position Summary
Position Summary:The Construction and Maintenance Technician coordinates projects and assists in day-to-day management of the operations division of the Field Department. General maintenance such as normal building equipment and plant property maintenance.
Compensation Data: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour, based on experience and certifications
Travel: Ability to travel to multiple cemetery offices daily/frequently.
Key Responsibilities- Perform wide range of maintenance for the cemeteries (carpenter, electric, painting, roofing, plumbing)
- Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs (daily, weekly, monthly)
- Perform electrical/appliance repairs and installation (lighting, wiring, circuit breakers, switches)
- Perform plumbing repairs, replacement parts, installation (sinks, toilets, faucets, hot water heaters)
- Perform carpentry repair and or installation (flooring, doors, shelves)
- Project planning and working with outside contractors in all phases of construction process
- Coordinate major facility functions and major infrastructure maintenance
- Schedule uses of resources such as labor, equipment, and materials while completing operations on time
- Meet all safety guidelines and requirements
- Communicating with management regarding building issues
Education &
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years experience in facility and equipment maintenance
- 3-5 years experience working as mechanical technician
- 2-5 years experience in machine troubleshooting and repair
- Preferred electrical certification
- Preferred plumbing certification
- Preferred hot works permit
- 30-hour OSHA Certified
- Current, valid driver’s license
- Ability to solve problems in a timely manner and develop alternative solutions
- Ability to use hand power tools (screwdriver, saw, drills, wrenches, hammers)
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems
- Ability to read drawings and schematics
- Ability to regularly walk the cemetery grounds and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.
- Position: onsite, in-person
- Stand for long periods of time
