Field Service Technician

At Universal Metal Products, our business is custom metal stampings. We have a talented team of creators that make it all happen. With over 80 years in the industry, we provide innovative, efficient solutions to our customers in the appliance, automotive and industrial markets.

• Perform on-site troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance installation of stamping presses and coil line systems. Occasional work on non-stamping presses/equipment as well.
• Conduct equipment inspections with thorough documentation of findings.
• Work flexible hours to support service needs.
• Collaborate with production teams to resolve complex problems.
• Document activities, findings, and recommended actions in detailed service reports in an accurate and professional manner.
• Maintain company tools, service equipment, and service vehicles in good working conditions.

• Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent military or industry experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Prior experience with metal stamping presses required.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, lubrication, hydraulic & pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service orientation with a professional demeanor.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in the field.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in industrial environments.
