, and we’re looking for talented professionals to join our team! This role is critical to ensuring system reliability, regulatory compliance, and uninterrupted customer operations. Technicians are expected to work collaboratively, uphold Freije’s core values, and deliver a consistently exceptional customer experience.
- Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial ammonia refrigeration systems (NH₃), including compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, valves, and controls.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on ammonia systems, HVAC equipment, boilers, and related mechanical systems.
- Utilize mechanical drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control diagrams to diagnose issues and complete repairs.
- Rebuild, install, and align various types of pumps, motors, and rotating equipment.
- Support system startups, shutdowns, and emergency response activities as required.
- Ensure systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards (IIAR, OSHA, EPA, ASME, and local regulations).
- Conduct safety inspections, Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, operational audits, and mechanical integrity audits.
- Identify hazards, report unsafe conditions, and actively participate in safety meetings and training.
- Complete accurate service documentation, inspection reports, and regulatory records in a timely manner.
- Maintain proper handling, storage, and documentation of refrigerants, oils, and chemicals.
- Demonstrated experience working with industrial refrigeration systems.
- Working knowledge of ammonia (NH₃) refrigeration systems and safety practices.
- RETA CIRO, CARO, or equivalent industrial refrigeration certification.
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
- Must pass drug and background screenings.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and control schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Exceptional safety knowledge of tools, testing devices, and work environments.
- Ability to work on‑call, nights, weekends, and respond to emergencies as required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in industrial environments.
