**** What this job involves:
** The HVAC Technician (HVAC Mechanic) is responsible for the maintenance and repair of HVAC and electrical equipment located in the interior and exterior of building.  Installs, repairs, and maintains mechanical/electrical operating equipment and machinery. Operation, repair and maintenance of utility plant equipment and associated systems. Regularly conducts a routine and on-going assessment of the building systems operations. Performs tests, rounds and analyzes data to assure the proper functioning of departmental equipment.

Monitors the operation of all mechanical & electrical operating equipment.

This position operates under the Operating Engineers Local 18 collective bargaining agreement.
** What your day-to-day will look like:**
* ** Maintains equipment
** by tightening fittings, repacking bearings, replacing packing glands, gaskets, valves, recorders, and gauges, and cleaning or replacing burners or other components, using hand tools and power tools.
* ** Install, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems
** including chillers, boilers, rooftop units, air handlers, and building automation systems in office buildings
* ** Diagnose system malfunctions and equipment failures
** using diagnostic tools, gauges, and computerized control systems to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
* ** Perform preventive maintenance tasks
** such as filter changes, belt inspections, lubrication, calibration of controls, and seasonal system startups/shutdowns to ensure optimal performance
* ** Read and interpret technical documentation
** including blueprints, schematics, manufacturer specifications, and building automation system interfaces to execute work orders accurately.
* ** Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations
** including EPA refrigerant handling requirements, OSHA standards, and local building codes while maintaining proper certifications

* Required Qualifications:

*** All HVAC personnel designated to work on, operate, maintain, and (or) repair HVAC equipment or systems shall maintain a minimum of sixteen (16) hours of continuing education annually from a NATE, HVAC Excellence, or UA Star recognized provider program.
* All HVAC personnel designated to work on, operate, maintain, and (or) repair HVAC equipment or systems shall possess one (1) or more of the following certifications:  + North American Technician Excellence (N.A.T.E.) HVACR Service Technician Certification  + HVAC Excellence Professional Level Certification  + UA Star HVACR Mastery Certification

* 5 years of experience

** 75,233.00 – 75,233.00 USD per year
