Job Summary
Helps the Executive Chef prepare and cook foods. Coordinates activities of cooks and other food‑service associates. Assumes responsibility for kitchen and food‑service associates in the absence of the Executive Chef.
LocationCleveland Museum of Art, 11150 East Boulevard, Cleveland, OH 44106.
ScheduleFull‑time. Open availability required. Hours and days may vary, including nights and weekends.
Pay$23.00 to $25.00 per hour.
Responsibilities- Cook and prepare food following approved recipes and production standards, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Supervise hourly food‑service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and participation in reviews. Recommend disciplinary action as appropriate.
- Store food in designated areas following corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures.
- Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils; clean workstations and keep display equipment clean during meal service.
- Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner and relay relevant information to supervisor.
- Demonstrate complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to associates and customers.
- Keep up with peak production and service hours.
- Monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies; track product production, consumption, and waste; inform supervisor when supplies or product are low.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Previous culinary and leadership experience required.
