Assistant Manager

Flynn Group, founded by Greg Flynn, started its journey in 1999 and has become the largest Applebee’s franchisee worldwide. Flynn Applebee’s is one of seven premier brands in the Flynn Group portfolio. We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join our team in Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill + Bar.

As an Applebee’s® Assistant Manager, you will be engaged in all aspects of day‑to‑day operations, ensuring guests and staff are passionate about their experience each day.

• Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines and achieves unit objectives.
• Cultivates a culture in accordance with Flynn Applebee’s values and beliefs.
• Responds immediately to and corrects all verbal guest complaints.
• Prioritizes guest contact and completes required table visits per Flynn Applebee’s standards.
• Maintains departmental inventory levels.
• Ensures product preparation and presentation meets company standards through line checks.
• Schedules employees to meet sales demands.
• Maintains effective safety and security programs.
• Promotes restaurant organization, cleanliness, and sanitation.
• Performs routine maintenance and reports necessary repairs to General Manager/Area Director.
• Promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential team members and management candidates.
• Promotes Flynn | Applebee’s training procedures for new managers.
• Maintains a trained staff through orientation, training sessions, meetings, and training systems.
• Participates in employee development using One‑on‑One and performance documentation.
• Assesses employee efficiency, provides regular feedback, and works on development areas.
• Monitors performance and documents situations requiring disciplinary action.
• Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Controls cost in the assigned department.
• Ensures compliance with local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines.
• Drives bi‑weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories as requested by AD/GM.
• Prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork.
• Ensures sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee’s standards.
• Provides a role model for managers and employees.
• Develops proficiency in all store related technology.
• Willing and able to work in all positions and assist as needed.
• Uses the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills.

• At least 2–3 years of restaurant management experience.
• Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus.

• Work various shifts, including weekends.
• Stand and exert mobility for up to ten (10) hours.
• Safely lift pots, pans, glassware, boxes, etc., up to 50 pounds.
• Read and write to facilitate communication; use small tools and equipment.
