Restaurant Shift Leader

Salary: $13.75 - $15.75 per hour
Reports to: Restaurant General Manager
Responsibilities- The Shift Leader oversees all restaurant activities during their shift, ensuring smooth store operations, exceptional guest service, and adherence to company standards.
- Interacts with guests, supervises staff, handles cash management, and maintains cleanliness and safety.
- Works hands‑on as needed, partners with the Management Team to execute the business plan, provides training to others, and resolves issues promptly while enforcing policies and procedures.
- Manages shift activities for operational excellence, follows company guidelines for cost control and resource utilization, and supports labor law compliance.
- Maintains compliance with food and cash control guidelines, follows brand standards for service, food quality, and safety, and ensures cleanliness, maintenance, and service standards uphold the brand image.
- Demonstrates self‑awareness and ability to motivate self and others.
- Proactively seeks and accepts feedback.
- Understands the impact of job responsibilities on guests, team, and restaurant operations.
- Creates a supportive environment for team members to excel.
- Interacts with guests and resolves concerns promptly and effectively.
- Treats employees with respect and recognition.
- Manages sales and labor tracking within Rackson systems.
- Ensures cash handling procedures are followed by others.
- Adheres to food and cash control guidelines.
- Maintains cleanliness, maintenance, and service standards to uphold brand image.
- Plans and executes shift operations efficiently.
- Follows company guidelines for cost control and resource utilization.
- Leads with empathy, fairness, and a focus on teamwork.
- Identifies and develops talent for future roles.
- Applies financial understanding to improve business decisions.
- Ensures compliance with labor laws and regulations.
- Supports the success of the business hands‑on as needed, whether by preparing food, serving guests, cleaning the store, or other duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent; restaurant management experience preferred.
- Previous fast‑food restaurant experience required.
- Communication in English required;
Spanish comprehension helpful. - Fundamental requirements include reading, writing, math, and basic computer/POS skills.
- Strong leadership skills, including leading by example and remaining calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, looping in stakeholders for support when needed.
- Willingness to learn all areas of restaurant operations & work multiple stations.
- Positive attitude and genuine desire to make others happy and serve one another.
- Ability to treat others with respect and care.
- Strong communication skills, including verbal communication in Spanish and/or English.
- Self‑motivated and action‑oriented.
- Attitude that embraces learning.
- Willing to admit mistakes, take accountability, and fix issues.
- Prompt and regular attendance on assigned shifts; dependable and reliable.
- Must have reliable transportation to work and company events/meetings.
- Must be available and willing to work a variety of days/times including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Physical requirements:
lift, move, carry, and stack cartons up to 50 lbs; stand for long periods; frequently squat, stoop, reach overhead, forward, and underneath shelves, counter, tables, and kitchen equipment; frequent motions of bending, wiping, sweeping, mopping; exposure to fluctuating temperatures in cooler, freezer, and cooking sections; hazards include slipping, tripping, burns, cuts, abrasions, and falls. - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
