Primary Patient Population: This unit provides specialized care in epilepsy monitoring, focusing on treatment of medical patients.
Unit Size: 17-bed unit
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5

SummaryGuided by the basic principles of nursing based on biological, physical, and psychosocial sciences, the RN utilizes evidence and nursing theory in delivery of care. Responsibilities include providing, coordinating and delegating nursing care, managing resources to deliver optimum health for patients, families, and community.
Requirements Formal Education- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Applicants with an Associate’s degree will be considered but must obtain a BSN within three (3) years of employment.
- Graduate of a program of professional nursing accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
- Current license to practice registered nursing in the State of Ohio.
- PRN RN’s must have at least one year of recent experience in the area of practice.
- One year of related RN experience is required for weekend option positions.
- Additional related experience and/or preparation may be required for specialty units.
- Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination.
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions or irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable disease, body fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other hazards common in a clinical environment.
- Maintains current Basic Life Support certification; new nurses in critical care, progressive care, medical telemetry, PACU, and ED must complete Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within the first six months or have it upon hire.
- Additional education or certifications may be required for specialty areas (e.g., PALS, NIH, Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention).
- Ability to effectively interact with diverse populations, respecting self‑respect, dignity, and diversity.
- Heavy:
Exerts 50–100 pounds of force occasionally, 25–50 pounds frequently, and 10–20 pounds continuously to move objects.
$33.75/hr – $53.00/hr (base salary exclusive of bonuses or differentials). Salary range considers experience, geography, and equity.
