Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift, 3x12.0 Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This is a 13-week contract position.
Responsibilities- Conduct a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission to form an individualized care plan.
- Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis by collaborating with the patient/family and the Interdisciplinary team.
- Provide timely patient information and status updates for Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
- Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, prioritizing education for patients, families, and significant others.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
- Communicate changes in patient status effectively to maintain continuity of care and patient safety.
- Provide direction, training, and supervision for ancillary nursing personnel while delegating appropriately.
- Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital and nursing policies.
- Contribute positively to unit functioning and team building activities.
- Monitor necessary supplies and equipment to effectively complete assigned duties.
- Assume charge responsibility as requested following orientation.
- Engage in professional growth and continuing education.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
- Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
