- Skills in pre and post cardiac catheterization, ablation, and chemical cardioversion using anti-dysrhythmic medications.
Description:
The unit specializes in the care of patients with advanced heart failure and pulmonary hypertension.
It also manages complex cardiac conditions, including electrolyte imbalanced dysrhythmias and tachy-brady syndromes.
Care is provided to patients awaiting heart transplants.
Additionally, the team works with patients who have implantable devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators.
Specialized patient care includes pre and post cardiac catheterization as well as ablation procedures.
The utilization of anti-dysrhythmic medications, specifically Tikosyn, is integral to patient care.
The unit also serves as a backup location for hospitalist services, offering a broader medical-surgical experience for nursing staff.
