Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring 18 months of recent specialty experience and valid OH or compact state licensure.
Responsibilities

• Position is on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting

• Rotating day and night 12-hour shifts (7am-7:30pm and 7pm-7:30am); shifts may be variable to meet operational needs

• Three 12-hour shifts per week are required

• Traveler must work at least every other holiday

• Uses ECG rhythm recognition and safe Medicate assessments during orientation

• ECG rhythm and safe Medicate assessments must be passed within two attempts during orientation

• Annual and pre-start modules are required and must be completed prior to start

• Candidates must complete onsite fingerprinting and badge pickup before the start date

• Travelers who have previously worked as permanent or per diem staff at the facility must wait one year from their last work date before returning

• Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate as travelers

• Facility no longer requires nicotine-free status for nurses and CSTs

• Background screenings must not have any open cases for consideration
Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration

• Minimum of 18 months permanent experience in Med/Surg Tele required

• AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required and must be active

• One reference from a supervisor, manager, ANM, or director in the specialty required for consideration

• Acceptable scores on ECG rhythm recognition and safe Medicate assessments required during orientation
