This position in our Social Service department will provide ongoing support and assistance to the Food Pantry program. The role requires good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse population. The employee must be able to assist in all areas needed to ensure a smooth and cohesive operation. The position pays $13/hour.
Responsibilities- Be punctual.
- Coordinate pick‑ups and deliveries with donors.
- Unload, record, and weigh donated items.
- Assist with client intake.
- Always ensure client confidentiality.
- Always remain professional and respectful.
- Assist with referring POH clients to the Social Service Coordinator.
- Ensure that Family Services Workers receive all recorded weights and receipts for monthly reports.
- Maintain regular pantry hours.
- Stock and shelve all food items in accordance with food storage codes.
- Ensure that the pantry and all pantry‑related areas are well stocked and prepared for daily operation.
- Assist with preparation for special community events.
- Ensure that pantry and pantry‑related areas are left clean and orderly.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Customer Service experience.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record and insurance per Salvation Army regulations.
- Ability to routinely lift and carry boxes, bags, or items that are 25 lbs or more.
- Ability to shelve cases, bags, or items that are 25 lbs or greater.
