Title: Blanchard Grinder Operator

Shift: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Salary: $19.00 – $25.00 per hour

Our client is seeking a skilled operator to set up and maintain Blanchard grinding machines to produce precision‑ground parts. This role exists to ensure all metal work pieces meet exact customer and internal specifications through technical expertise and rigorous quality control in their Cleveland, OH location.

• Set up and operate Blanchard grinders to grind flat surfaces on metal work pieces
• Interpret blueprints, work orders, and manufacturing instructions to determine specifications
• Measure and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision instruments
• Adjust machine settings such as speed, feed, and tooling to meet tolerances
• Monitor grinding operations to detect issues, wear, or defects
• Perform routine machine maintenance, including wheel dressing and coolant checks
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following safety standards
• Document production details, measurements, and quality checks
• Work closely with Quality Control and Production teams to ensure timely output

The candidate will report to the Production Supervisor and will not have any reports.

• Possess experience operating Blanchard or similar surface grinding equipment
• Read mechanical blueprints and follow instructions with high accuracy
• Apply strong understanding of metalworking processes and shop math
• Utilize precision measuring instruments with proficiency
• Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills
• Maintain a reliable work ethic and commitment to safety procedures
• Work effectively both independently and within a team environment

Working Conditions:

This role operates in an industrial manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, oil, coolant, and metal particulates. Use of PPE is required (glasses, steel‑toed shoes, hearing protection). The position requires regular standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and manual handling of metal parts and tooling.
