OD​/Surface Grinder Machinist

Position: OD/ID - Surface Grinder Machinist
The OD/ Surface Grinder Machinist is responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and maintaining an (OD/ grinding) machine to produce precision components according to specifications. This position ensures parts meet dimensional accuracy, surface finish requirements, and quality standards. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities:

* Programming, set up and operate OD/ surface grinding machines to perform precision grinding on various metal components

* Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings

* Measure parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision measurement tools

* Adjust machine feeds, speeds, and wheel dressing as needed to achieve required tolerances

* Perform routine changing grinding wheels and holding fixtures

* Inspect finished parts for accuracy, surface finish, and conformance to quality standards

* Monitor machine performance and identify wear, malfunction, or need for maintenance

* Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation

* Supports team and organizational initiatives as needed

Qualifications:

* 2 plus years of previous experience operating OD/ machines preferred;
Studer machine experience a plus.

* Strong understanding of machining principles, tolerance control, and surface finishing

* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurement specifications

* Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, etc.)

* Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

* Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines

Education:

* High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or machining certificate preferred
