Market Garden Brewery is a production brewery and hospitality campus in Ohio City. We’re growing, adding equipment, improving systems, and increasing our brewery production! This role is a chance to be a key member of a small local production brewery and hospitality campus!
Reporting & Key RelationshipsReports to:
Director of Brewery Operations and Brewmaster
Works closely with:
Brewing OPS (production needs), Packaging (materials readiness + finished goods flow), Maintenance (priorities + equipment care), and Accounting/Controller functions for Beer 30 inputting.
- Minimum 2 years brewing experience.
- Strong organizational skills; detail-oriented; follows checklists and SOPs.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, physical production environment; able to juggle multiple priorities.
- Proficient with basic computer tools (Microsoft Office/Excel); able to learn brewing software/logging systems.
- Strong safety awareness (chemicals, hot surfaces, CO2, confined spaces, moving equipment).
- Team-first attitude; clear communicator; dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Brewing/Milling/grain handling; staging raw materials; brew‑day tasks from setup through teardown.
- CIP and cleaning of brewhouse equipment; maintaining brewhouse area cleanliness and organization.
- Basic troubleshooting and escalation of equipment/process issues.
- Tank cleaning/CIP; hose and fitting sanitation; maintaining cellar organization and cleanliness.
- Fermentation support: daily checks/logs (gravity/temp), additions (dry hop/adjuncts), yeast handling as assigned.
- Beer transfers (fermenter → Brite → package), carbonation checks/adjustments, general cellar workflow.
- Centrifuge and Filtration.
- Kegging & canning support, and packaging area cleanup.
- Safe operation of keg washer and basic packaging equipment; changeovers and staging packaging materials.
- Labeling/date coding/lot tracking per company practice; keeping packaging runs organized and documented.
- Accurate daily recordkeeping (brew sheets, cellar logs, packaging notes, yields/losses, lot codes).
- Support basic QA/QC and sensory standards; flag deviations immediately and help with root‑cause follow‑up.
- Day to Day reporting using Beer 30 software.
- Line cleaning / draft system maintenance support (as assigned).
- Staff education about beer; assisting with public/private tours.
- Off‑site events/outreach support when scheduled.
- Able to stand/walk for long periods; work safely around wet floors, heat, steam, and cold cellar temps.
- Able to lift/carry 55 lb. bags; move full/empty kegs; handle hoses and fittings.
- Safe chemical handling (PPE, dilution, storage); follows lockout/tagout and confined space protocols when applicable.
- Able to safely operate brewery carts/pallet jacks/forklift if trained; valid driver’s license preferred.
- Hourly rate:
Based on experience. - Growth path: designed to scale into a management role as the department or needs grow.
