Job Description
As a Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our machinery. You will be responsible for checking the stack count list for proper piece count and type of packaging needed, transferring material using cranes or pallet jacks, and organizing storage areas by part number and heat codes.
Responsibilities- Load parts into the Straightener and Process.
- Observe and alert the supervisor for visual defects.
- Set up the straightener according to the blueprint part.
- Monitor calibration dates on gauges.
- Verify that material is properly tagged before moving.
- Ensure proper containers are at the production and secondary operations.
- Maintain part number and heat code integrity at all times.
- Measure parts and straighten part specific tolerances.
- Report any mechanical or safety issues to the foreman as soon as possible.
- Provide coverage to production lines first and spell for breaks and lunch as needed.
- Visually check all baskets received and unloaded for broken welds, missing pegs, broken or bent rails, and/or broken side gates.
- Ensure that all material is properly tagged and weighed by appropriate procedures.
- Remove any scrap axles and place them in the proper containers following the appropriate work instructions and procedures.
- Remove all foreign and tagging material from customer dunnage.
- Reset machine counter at the end of the shift.
- Follow all safety and plant rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 1+ years in a manufacturing environment.
- 1+ years operating industrial forklifts.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with forklift operation, tow motor, steel manufacturing, machine operation, inspection, grinder, foundry, slitter, diecast, general labor, gauges, calipers, micrometer, blueprint reading, inspection of parts, inspection gauges, saw operation, and cutting.

Work EnvironmentThis is a heavy industrial forging environment that is not temperature controlled. Candidates must be open to all shifts, including: 1st shift (6:30 am - 2:30 pm), 2nd shift (2:30 pm - 10:30 pm), and 3rd shift (10:30 pm - 6:30 am). Candidates on off shifts will receive additional pay. Overtime is considered after 8 hours of work.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.75 - $25.75/hr.
