Maintenance Technician – Monarch Steel Company, Inc.
Monarch Steel Company, Inc., a division of American Consolidated Industries, is one of the country’s largest providers of hot rolled, cold rolled, and galvanized steel products. Pay Range$24.00/hr – $32.00/hr
Responsibilities- Under direction from the Maintenance Supervisor, perform installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of both production equipment and the physical plant.

- Troubleshoot and repair production equipment and the physical plant.
- Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work and in accordance with Safety Policy and OSHA standards.
- Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping procedures, and adhering to safety guidelines.
- Perform preventive maintenance on the production equipment and physical plant.
- Install new equipment and systems.
- Start and complete Work Request form(s) within the manufacturing data system.
- Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
- None.
- Experience in welding and cutting.
- Forklift/crane certification.
- Experience in hydraulic and pneumatic repairs and installation.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and the use of a multimeter.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the company.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, work instructions, operating instructions, maintenance information and procedure manuals written in English.
- Basic math ability: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent (required).
- One‑year certificate from a technical school (preferred).
- Industry knowledge and experience (a plus).
- None.
- Noise level is usually moderate to high.

- Frequent tasks involve sitting, handling tools, talking, hearing, standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Moderate physical activity; frequent lifting/moving up to 50 pounds.
- Vision requirements: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
