First Shift starting rate $19.00;
Second Shift starting rate $20.50

• Sets up mill to correct speed, width and thickness for the designated compound.
• Operates roll mill to homogenize and roll compounds into batches of 100-300 pound sheeting or slab forms.
• Works with packer to rework materials onto the mill.
• Pays attention to mill to ensure consistent width and thickness, making adjustments to the machine as necessary.
• Cuts material with knife against the rolling mill and feeds the material back through rolls to obtain sheet of specified color, consistency, and thickness.
• Synchronizes the cooling station with the mill to work productively.
• Adjusts the cooling system to ensure appropriate speed.
• Guides material onto conveyor belt as appropriate.
• Cleans rolls to prevent contamination of stocks, using wire brush, hand scraper, solvents, and air hose.
• Promptly notifies maintenance of any problems.

To successfully perform this job, an individual must be able to perform each key responsibility in a satisfactory manner through individual effort. Individuals must be detailed oriented and have the ability to multi-task; must be able to follow processing instructions, material formulas and quality specifications; determine machine adjustment and material requirements; follow all safety and environmental rules and regulations; maintain detailed records and keep work area neat and orderly.

Additionally, the well-qualified candidate will have the following education and experience.

Minimum High School graduate or GED plus at least one year of experience operating a two roll mill.

Works in chemical manufacturing plant environment. Works in standing position for prolonged periods of time, lifts and/or moves 50 lbs. continuously, works and travels throughout plant environment of varied temperatures and humidity, grasps and holds small objects frequently, uses full range of motion, and wears personal protective equipment, as required. Various operations in the plant generate noise, dust, vapor and fumes in the normal course of production. The Company has been and is committed to eliminate these conditions to the extent possible through the application of design engineering. The Company also provides a variety of safety equipment to keep all associates safe and within OSHA standards. In addition, during extreme weather conditions, associates may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures while working.
