Job Summary

Howmet Aerospace has an immediate opening for a Tooling Manufacturing Supervisor at our Engines Products - Cleveland Operations Tempcraft facility. The supervisor role is the first level of authority in the Tooling Business Center providing leadership, coaching and clear direction to ensure people are working safely, meeting customer demand, solving problems, eliminating waste and meeting goals.

Howmet Engines is a world-class producer of aero engine and industrial gas turbine components, including airfoils, rings, disks and forgings. We excel in vacuum melted superalloys, machining, performance coatings and hot isostatic pressing for high performance parts that enable the next generation of quieter, more fuel-efficient aero engines and cleaner power generation.

Job Responsibilities
  • Directs assigned areas in the manufacturing, processing, or support areas to meet customer quality, output, and on-time delivery.
  • Prepares daily production reports and attends department daily production meeting at Daily Management board.
  • Setting, in concurrence with the Operations Manager, the daily production and quality goals and ensures that these goals are achieved for the assigned areas.
  • Completes timekeeping requirements for assigned hourly associates on a daily basis.
  • Schedules associates shifts, approves overtime, vacations, and other personnel administrative requests with manager approval.
  • Ensures associates are taking all breaks and lunches within the required time period.
  • Analysis and planning of short- and long-term department requirements.
  • Interfaces with other departments to ensure short- and long-term goals and deadlines are accomplished.
  • Walks shop floor to ensure all associates are maintaining productivity standards.
  • Employee relations: promoting teamwork, coaching, and counseling associates.
  • Ensures associates are in compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Coaches associates in their continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensures all Environmental and Safety policies are followed.
  • Monitor material inventory and work with Procurement to ensure material flow supports production schedules.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and motivation to associates in assigned area.
  • Work with the Team Leads to develop and execute training plans for all operators to ensure they have the skills needed to do their jobs and are sufficiently cross trained to optimize resource usage safely and correctly.
  • Direct the implementation of Howmet Business System initiatives (lean manufacturing) including 5S, standardized work, work balance, product flow and TMP improvements.
Salary Range

$ salary approximation (actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as education, experience, skillset, and/or location).

Qualifications Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years management and/or supervisor experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Journeyman Tool & Die Maker.
  • Experience in the investment casting industry.
  • Supervision/leadership experience in a tool and die manufacturing shop.
  • Leadership/supervision with regards to CNC equipment.
  • Die assembly experience in the wax and plastic injection processes.
  • Experience with lathes, wire EDM, CNC machining.
