Fives North American Combustion, a subsidiary of Fives Group, offers 100+ years of expertise in industrial combustion. The CNC Machinist will set up and operate Fanuc-controlled CNC machines, inspect and troubleshoot parts, maintain equipment, and follow quality assurance procedures.

• Set up and run CNC equipment using Fanuc controls.
• Follow work instructions, maintain specifications, and observe milling, turning, drilling, tapping, grooving, and cutting operations.
• Take measurements, detect malfunctions, troubleshoot processes, adjust and reprogram controls, sharpen and replace worn tools, and adhere to quality assurance procedures.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, troubleshoot malfunctions, and call for repairs.
• Read blueprints, inspect parts, and verify accuracy against blueprints.
• Read micrometers, calipers, OD’s, tool pre-setting comparators, dial bore gauges, and make proper tooling offsets, speeds, and feeds.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

• 3-5 years of CNC machine operating/set-up experience.
• Background in machining castings, iron castings preferred.
• Previous lathe and milling experience preferred.
• Lean manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Associate degree from a 2-year college or technical school, or 2-3 years of related experience and/or training.
