We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Supervisor to direct and coordinate the production department's activities, including processing materials and producing high-quality products.

• 3-day work week-Tuesday through Friday (no weekends) 6:30 pm - 7:30 am. Off Friday morning until Tuesday evening.

SUMMARY:

• Review the production schedule to verify product data, including type, quantity, and specification.
• Follow planned production priorities as specified by the Production Manager.
• Prepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure product production and quality meet specifications.
• Review operator reports and resolve operational and manufacturing issues to ensure minimum costs and prevent delays.
• Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational and working practices; observe workers to ensure compliance with standards.
• Resolve worker grievances or submit unsettled grievances to HR for action.
• Schedule operators on machines and review operator time records.
• Assume responsibilities of set-up and Material Handler as needed.
• Conduct frequent quality checks on in-production parts to reduce scrap and rework.
• Oversee housekeeping of the production area.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and the quality of the product.
• Suggest changes in working conditions and the use of equipment to increase efficiency.
• Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in doing so.
• Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Report machine and equipment malfunctions to the Production Manager and/or maintenance personnel.
• Fill in for Production Manager as needed to cover time away from the building, including editing the production schedule.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Directly supervise approximately 10–20 employees in the Production Department.
• Train, coach, and develop the team.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
