Oversees and protects the physical assets of The Metro Health System (MHS), currently 6.5M square feet of buildings and garages, with an estimated value of over $3 Billion, by ensuring building and systems’ safety, effective functionality and optimal efficiency through oversight of assigned departments and areas of responsibility. Provides direction, coordination, and leadership for all facilities management services to support the mission and strategic objectives of The Metro Health System.
Responsible for planning, policy development and priority setting for Facilities Management operations within MHS. Ensures operations are consistent with Federal, State and Local Codes as well as the requirements of accreditation agencies. Combines engineering and administrative skills in the management of facilities, human resources, operational and capital budgets. Serves as a role model, resource person and advocate for facilities administration and customer service, and liaison with all areas of the MHS, both medical and non‑medical and other support services departments, inspectors, and regulatory agencies.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- Master’s degree in engineering or an MBA, or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience in lieu of the Master’s Degree
- Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM)
- Fifteen years of experience including supervision, facilities management, construction management, contract administration, purchasing, cost estimating, cost accounting, and labor relations
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, computerized maintenance management and project management software
- Working knowledge of boiler plant, mechanical and electrical systems in a healthcare/research environment
- Demonstrated success complying with Joint Commission Standards and Surveys
- Working knowledge of Federal, State and Local Codes and Standards
- Proven leadership, engineering competence, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated evidence of continuing professional self‑development
- Facilities management experience on a multi‑building campus
- Professional licensure
- Master’s degree in engineering and an MBA
- Physical Demands:
May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating; may need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing - Ability to communicate face‑to‑face, by phone, email, and other communications
