Litigation Paralegal
Benesch Law – Cleveland office – hybrid, work‑from‑home flexibility.
Position SummarySeasoned litigation paralegal sought for a fast‑paced and challenging role. Experience managing large‑scale litigation from start to finish and heavy involvement in trials is required.
Key Responsibilities- Support attorneys in the coordination, management and supervision of all litigation aspects.
- Manage large‑scale discovery and e‑discovery matters, including document preservation, collection and production.
- Draft, review and analyze routine legal documents.
- Provide operational litigation technology support (database creation, image import, data search, export, reformatting, conversions, form and report design, e‑discovery processes, OCR, coding).
- Organize and maintain case files using automated procedures.
- Assist in preparing attorneys and witnesses for depositions and court appearances.
- Prepare for trials in state and federal courts; manage trial support, create and oversee exhibits, set up war rooms, attend trial to assist with evidence presentation, and travel as needed.
- Review and summarize depositions.
- Assist with finalizing witness affidavits.
- Review documents for privilege and draft privilege logs for attorney review.
- Conduct legal and factual research.
- Interact with courts, government agencies, expert witnesses, vendors, and other law firms to gather information and coordinate activities.
- Act as liaison between case‑team attorneys and support staff to ensure case‑specific paralegal services meet expectations.
- Meet billable goals as established by practice management.
- May require overtime as needed.
- Perform additional office support duties as assigned or requested.
Documents and information obtained in the course of employment are confidential and must be kept confidential at all times.
Qualifications- Valid Paralegal certification preferred; seven to ten years of litigation experience in an AmLaw 150 firm or specialist litigation practice area.
- Experience with all stages of litigation: intake, discovery, trial, and arbitration hearings.
- Experience with Opus 2, Text Map, Case Map, iManage, Everlaw, Trial Director, and the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) is preferred.
- Strong time‑management and organizational skills, high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, with an excellent customer‑service attitude.
- Availability for overtime work and travel as needed.
Salary range: $110,000 – $142,000 per year. Full‑time positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
