Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Patent Prosecution Paralegal is assigned to work primarily on specific patent prosecution cases/transactions, or to support attorneys whose practice involves specific areas of law. Responsibilities to include: preparing documents for filing at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, including transmittals information disclosure statements, and formal drawings; responsible for quality review and uploading of all submissions with the USPTO and WiPO;
creating and updating IP portfolio family and status reports; obtaining copies of U.S. and foreign patents and patent publications; preparing formal documents, including powers of attorney, assignments and required declarations; drafting of various Requests/Petitions/Communications to the USPTO for attorney review; proofing filing receipts and U.S. and PCT publications, and U.S. notices of allowance.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum four (4) years patent prosecution experience in a legal or corporate environment.
- Ability to work under pressure with or without direct supervision and ability to multitask.
- Highly motivated, positive attitude, and able to work in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, juggle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to work overtime.
