Shaping the Future of Digital Discovery – The landscape of information retrieval is undergoing a seismic shift. As users migrate from traditional keyword‑based queries to conversational interactions with Large Language Models (LLMs), the definition of visibility is evolving. PNC Bank is seeking a forward‑thinking AI Search Technical Lead to spearhead our adaptation to this new era. This pivotal role sits within the Digital Growth Marketing organization, positioned strategically adjacent to the SEO Content and SEO Strategy teams.

The successful candidate will focus on ensuring that PNC’s web properties are structured, coded, and optimized for peak performance across two distinct ecosystems: traditional search engines like Google and Bing, and the emerging generative search engines including Gemini, ChatGPT, and Perplexity. This is not a traditional technical SEO role; it is a technical discipline focused on Answer Engine Optimization (AEO).

The role requires a deep understanding of how machines parse, process, and retrieve data and a proactive approach to structuring data so it is cited as the primary source of truth for AI agents.

• Advanced AEO Platform Management – Maintain and optimize tracking in core AEO platforms such as Profound, Conductor, and Semrush, and collaborate with platform teams for enhancements.
• Technical Architecture and Schema Implementation – Create and implement JSON‑LD schema across  and other properties to maximize visibility in LLMs.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration for AI Visibility – Work closely with Affiliate, Content, SEO, External Communications, and PR teams to ensure content is deployed in optimal spaces for AI visibility.
• Executive Reporting and Strategy – Report progress to executive stakeholders and translate complex technical concepts into clear business metrics.
• Continuous Improvement and Testing – Design controlled experiments to evaluate how content structures affect citation rates in generative responses.

This is a technical leadership role that requires at least 5 + years of experience in technical SEO and strong web development knowledge. Candidates must be comfortable working behind the scenes of a website to assess how its construction impacts discoverability.

• Web Development Fundamentals – Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS; ability to audit code for rendering issues that could hinder AI crawler access.
• Data Analysis – Ability to analyze large datasets to identify trending topics and performance anomalies, with proficiency in data visualization.
• Test and Learn Aptitude – Curiosity and scientific rigor to formulate hypotheses, run experiments, and operationalize results.

• CMS Platforms – Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar enterprise Content Management Systems.
• Technical Auditing – Proficiency with Screaming Frog SEO crawler for deep technical audits.
• Search Intelligence – Expertise in Conductor Web Intelligence for enterprise‑level visibility tracking.
• Performance Analytics – Deep knowledge of Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Adobe Analytics.
• Server‑Side Analysis – Familiarity with log‑file analysis tools to understand bot crawling and optimize crawl budgets.

• Customer Focused – Align customer needs and satisfaction with business decisions.
• Managing Risk – Assess and manage risks in line with PNC’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

Base Salary: $65,000.00 – $. Salaries may vary based on location, market data, and individual skills, experience, and education. The role is incentive eligible.
