Summary

Cuyahoga County of Ohio is looking for interns to assist the IT Service Desk Team within the Department of Information technology. The purpose of this internship is to gain insight into the Service Desk field by providing assistance to the County end users who have issues or questions regarding hardware, software, or applications supported by the County Department of Information Technology.

Intern(s) within the IT Service Desk Team will work collaboratively with various IT staff to gain an in-depth view of how IT operations within a county government operates. A broad range of entry level Service Desk work set by the Service Desk Department will be assigned depending on needs and other factors.

Essential Job Functions

* Develops an understanding and relationship of the core business applications and the associated technologies; communicates effectively with County staff, technical support staff; assists with Level 1 incidents including communications to technicians; provides Service Desk and general technical support to all employees; determines and differentiates between user application and infrastructure incidents; assists with research and development of solutions for incidents; achieves full understanding of Service Desk escalation protocols.

* Develops an understanding of the County's infrastructure; assists users in accessing and utilizing office technology; provides technical support and operating instructions on applications and hardware devices.

* Keeps users informed of status of problem resolutions; performs miscellaneous clerical duties.

Minimum Requirements

In pursuit or recently obtained an Associate's degree in computer science or related field.

Preferred:
