Network Oper Center Analyst II-Info Serv Data Center

Location: Metro Health Old Brooklyn Campus

Shift: 11:30p-8a; 5 days/week, occasional weekend coverage

The Metro Health System is redefining health care by going beyond medical treatment to improve the foundations of community health and well-being. Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety‑net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.

Summary

Monitors and provides frontline and secondary support with Information Systems (IS) issues (e.g., hardware, software, telecommunications, performance, education‑related, etc.) for all users within The Metro Health System. Assists with overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the Data Center. Responds efficiently and effectively to monitoring alerts, including issues regarding operating systems, networking, and applications. Enables customers to remain productive in their business and clinical operations.

Acts as a liaison between customers and internal IS staff to ensure accurate and timely problem interpretation/resolution. Contributes to the proper operation of the network environment for The Metro Health System, and the effective and efficient operation of the Data Center. Works in multi‑platform environments and with remote access applications/services. Adheres to the standard support policies, procedures, and methods for the Data Center, IS Department, and The Metro Health System at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Monitors and responds to alerts from server, network, and application monitoring systems.
  • Provides frontline and secondary support for IS issues across the organization.
  • Works with remote access applications and services in multi‑platform environments.
  • Acts as a liaison between users and internal IS staff.
  • Contributes to the operation and improvement of the Data Center and network environment.
  • Follows support policies, procedures, and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field and 3 years of related experience, OR 5 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong computer skills and superior knowledge of common programs/systems (e.g., Microsoft Office 2013+, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008).
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent telephone communication and etiquette skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work with a diverse user base.
  • Advanced analytical and organizational skills.
  • Self‑starter who takes initiative and ownership of job responsibilities.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to participate in a 3‑shift, 24/7 work environment, including holidays.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to various locations within The Metro Health System.
  • Current A+ Certification from CompTIA (preferred).
  • Experience with network topology, integration engines (e.g., Rhapsody), system monitoring (e.g., HPOV, Solar Winds, SCOM), Citrix deployments, job scheduler software, and process frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT, ISO:20000).
  • Knowledge of VPN/Remote Access, Mainframe, Wireless, Active Directory, Apple products, pagers, MFDs, telecommunications, Outlook, EPIC, clinical applications, and basic security/compliance policies.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, stand, bend, and ambulate intermittently; may lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
