Summary/Objective

The HR Personnel Assistant assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department.

Responsibilities
  • Set-up interviews for positions.
  • Run background checks on all potential candidates before 2nd interview.
  • Run drivers records on all driver candidates before 2nd interview.
  • Respond to all applicants/candidates that have not been selected for a position.
  • Review paperwork required for new hires and establish their personnel file.
  • Enter all new hire employee data into the payroll system. Add each new hire into our benefits systems at the time of hire when applicable. Handle employee tracking as directed by the HR Manager.
  • Assist with the day-to-day operation of the HR office.
  • File employee paperwork daily so as to keep important documents locked up.
  • Maintaining all active and terminated employee files.
  • Updates schedules received by the stores and make any necessary changes in the main link.
  • Audit existing employee files when applicable to ensure we are not missing, and information required by state and local laws.
  • Complete other projects as assigned by management.
Competencies
  • Excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel in a Microsoft Windows environment. Highly skilled in Excel required
  • Effective oral, written, communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Skills in database management and record keeping.
  • Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
  • Paychex Flex/ Nice to know
