Clinical Counselor | Altercare Mayfield Village

Overview

Position Summary:

This is not your typical counseling job! If you have a passion for working in a creative environment with older adults, then this Clinical Counseling position is for you! It is a part-time position. This position will be located at Altercare Mayfield Village 290 N. Commons Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44143.

• Conducts diagnostic assessments/updates, develops/revises/implements individualized treatment plans, and provides individual and/or group therapy to residents of nursing homes.
• Utilizes outcomes tools to monitor effectiveness of treatment.
• Consults and collaborates with other interdisciplinary staff as needed.
• Maintains active licensure to practice as a counselor or social worker.

Essential Skills And Behaviors For a Clinical Counselor Demonstrates solid therapeutic and evaluating skills, strong communication skills (both written and verbal), and positive problem-solving skills. Abides by the Encompass Care and/or professional code of ethics.

Education/

Experience:

Requires an active state license to practice as a social worker or professional counselor in Ohio. Experience in providing counseling/therapy services to older adults preferred but not required.
