The Hospital Specialist role is a core part of the evolving customer‑engagement model, engaging healthcare providers (HCPs) through in‑person, virtual, and digital tools to provide expertise on products and approved conditions.

The 'ecosystem approach' unifies account management, medical, patient access, and market‐access teams to engage with local healthcare systems, identifying opportunities to enhance the patient experience. This matrix structure ensures coordinated and seamless care and supports digital tools to bridge care gaps. The Specialist reports directly to the Area Business Lead and coordinates with cross‑functional colleagues in Medical, Market Access, and Patient Support to serve as the primary point of contact for HCP customers.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct proactive outreach to HCPs on product access, on‑label information, and established patient care guidance.
- Engage customers through virtual or digital tools and direct them to other colleagues (e.g., MSLs) as needed.
- Facilitate speaker programs and organize local provider groups for discussions on experiences and outcomes with local/regional leaders.
- Elevate opportunities and feedback to the Area Business Lead, including local market insights to inform strategy and business goals.
- A minimum of 2 years of pharmaceutical or medical device sales experience.
- Residence within a commutable distance of 50 miles from the primary city in the sales territory.
- Previous cross‑functional experience in commercial life sciences or a related industry.
- 4 or more years of experience working in an HCP sales role, ideally representing multiple products.
- Ability to work in an ambiguous environment undergoing transformation.
- Proven track record in coaching, training, and mentoring peers or others.
- Commitment to ethical business practices and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to assimilate and communicate complex clinical and product information.
- Territory Analysis / Business Planning
- Use competitive data and business reports to track progress and uncover opportunities.
- Show knowledge of territory and business conditions that impact sales results to establish near‑term priorities.
- Respond compliantly to competitive threats and opportunities.
- Educate office staff on payer guidelines and reimbursement procedures.
