Shift: Post training period: hybrid schedule (3 days on site/2 days remote) M-F 8a - 4:30p with requirement to work up to 6pm once per week.

Responsibilities- Ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of application software and all computer hardware used in assigned areas of the Pathology Department.
- Analyze procedures/problems within manual and/or automated pathology systems.
- Prepare installation schedules, and coordinate upgrades as directed by the Manager - Pathology Information and Data Management.
- Recommend improvements to existing departmental applications and training/procedural documentation procedures.
- Confers with staff members to determine system requirements.
- Uphold the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The Metro Health System.
- Required: Possesses one of the following:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Associate's degree from an accredited institution with 2 years of Laboratory or Computer Science experience
- Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below
- 3 years of experience with pathology or other clinical information systems, system analysis (including detailed knowledge of departmental operations), information flow, all pathology testing, and diagnostic reporting policies/procedures.
- Analytical aptitude, and the ability to translate functional needs to a computerized environment.
- Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment with aggressive deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an Allied Health field.
- Possess a current Medical Technologist (MT) certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or an equivalent certification.
- Experience with report design and execution, ideally using SQL or Crystal Reports.
- May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
- May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
- See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
- Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
- Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.
- May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion.
- Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
- Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
