ResponsibilitiesPerforms activities related to patient nutritional management/education for infant through adult patients for assigned ambulatory clinics. Develops and implements nutrition education programs targeted to patients, hospital staff members, students, and peer professional staff members. Participates in departmental activities as outlined. Maintains professional competencies. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The Metro Health System.
Qualifications- Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics by an institution that has been approved/accredited by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). - Currently a Registered Dietitian (RD or RDN) through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
- Will consider a graduate of an approved/accredited ACEND program who is registration eligible.
- Currently a Licensed Dietitian (LD) through the State Medical Board of Ohio, or a Limited Permit (LP) holder through the State Medical Board of Ohio if at registration eligible status.
- Competent use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient use of the electronic health record system.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills.
- Able to convey complex information to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Master of Science Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or other related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience working in a clinical setting.
May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. Requires some exposure to chemicals.
