Advanced Practice Provider Position
- Pain and Healing Center
Join the Metro Health Pain and Healing Center to independently manage patients in collaboration with a physician(s) to provide primarily office-based care, mainly on follow up and subsequent care for acute, subacute, acute on chronic and chronic MSK, spine and pain conditions, as well as possibly provide coverage of the pain infusion program and the inpatient pain service. Graduation and certification are required.
No experience needed.
The Pain and Healing Center has a multidisciplinary team, including 10 physicians, 9 Advanced Practice Providers (APP), 2 pain psychologists, and 1 pain pharmacist whose practices primarily involve comprehensive and interventional treatments for patients suffering from a variety of painful conditions at various locations around the city. Additionally, the APPs and physicians are integral members of the Spine center, working collaboratively with the surgical providers.
Over 40,000 patient encounters and over 9000 procedures are performed by the Pain and Healing Center annually. APPs play an essential role in continuity of care, patient education, coordination of services, and supporting evidence-based pain management.
The position is full-time 1.0 clinical FTE with potential for administrative time for those who are interested and qualified.
QualificationsRequired:
MSN or grandfathered under Ohio Revised Code Graduate of an accredited advanced practice registered nurse program. Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Ohio. Certificate of Authority as an Advanced Practice Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing. Certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in specialty. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or obtain within 90 days of hire.
Obtain other advanced life support certifications applicable to practice area within 180 days of hire. Meets the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges in the specialty/department with The Metro Health System and must report to Medical Staff Office at time of hire to apply for clinical privileges. Maintains a standard care arrangement and renews/signs it as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
Note:
Other department specific qualifications for providers will be addressed through the Certificate of Authority and credentialing process.
Preferred:
Have or be able to apply for a Certificate to Prescribe/Externship from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
