Responsibilities
  • Plans, coordinates and evaluates all nursing and clinical staff activities, workflows and processes impacting patient care delivery.
  • Holds self and staff accountable for identification, evaluation, documentation, and appropriate intervention of patients  needs to ensure quality and cost-effective patient care.
  • Responsible for clinical staffing in the ambulatory clinics, including management of work assignments, performance, overtime, budget and ratio targets through assigned staff, float requests, and flexible scheduling.
  • Holds clinical staff accountable to ensure that patient experience goals are achieved.
  • Assists with enforcing The Joint Commission and regulatory standards for assigned area(s).
  • Ensures staff are aware and comply with Metro Health patient care practices, clinical quality initiatives, and human resources policies.
  • In collaboration with operations leadership, implements ambulatory operational initiatives, standards, and professional development for all personnel under their span of control.
  • Serves as a role model and an on-site resource for patient and practice concerns.
  • Works collaboratively with service line and support staff on deployment, onboarding and in identifying opportunities for new or revised programs to ensure access, service line growth as well as an effective, high-quality, skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The Metro Health System.
Qualifications
  • Required: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Current registered nurse licensure in the State of Ohio or Multi-State License.
  • 3 years of clinical experience, including experience as a preceptor, charge nurse or committee leader.
  • Nursing certification in specialty area or in nursing management/leadership (e.g., CNML, NE-BC, NEA-BC).
  • Current AHA certification(s) relevant to clinical practice area (as outlined in RN Clinical Nurse job Description).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills along with experience in working with multi-disciplinary groups.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical aptitude.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal, verbal/written communication and delegation and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred: Master s degree in Nursing or other Healthcare related field.
  • Experience in planning and analysis, financial management and/or marketing experience along with the related work experience that applies to the specific practice.
  • EPIC template management and experience with the operation of health care computer systems.
  • Clinical and operational experience at one or more Metro Health ambulatory sites.
Physical Demands
  • May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day.
  • May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Finger dexterity to operate PC keyboard.
  • Ability to hear normal voice sounds.
  • Ability to see the computer monitor, nursing schedules, and reports.
  • Travel to sites within The Metro Health System ambulatory network.
