Primary Responsibilities
  • Under the general supervision of the fluoroscopy operator, assists with a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures across vascular, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, interventional radiology, and neuroscience service lines.
  • The patient population ranges from infancy through geriatric.
  • Provides a safe and supportive care environment for patients undergoing procedures involving the use of fluoroscopy.
  • Functions in a multipurpose role depending on the needs of the individual patient and operator, in line with Metro Health System policies and procedures and governing ODH regulations.
  • Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of Metro Health System.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Valid Radiographer License for the State of Ohio.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Possess ARRT Vascular Interventional or ARRT Cardiac Interventional credentials, or obtains one within 36 months of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or obtains within 1 year of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from AHA or obtains within the standard probationary period.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work on-call hours on a rotating basis to meet the needs of the department.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of related experience with advanced certification through the ARRT in Vascular Interventional and/or Cardiac Interventional Radiography.
  • Experience in the use of computers and sophisticated diagnostic equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of cardiac anatomy, hemodynamics, and ability to interpret ECGs.
  • Experience working with a sterile field using sterile technique.
  • Experience operating a C-arm.
Physical Demands
  • May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
  • May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
  • Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
  • Ability to lift 250-300 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance.
  • Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
  • Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products.
