Overview
The Metro Health System (MHS) is leading the way to a healthier community by delivering outstanding clinical care, training the next generation of clinicians and scientists, and embracing innovation and discovery. This position contributes to the clinical and academic mission of the Metro Health Rehabilitation Institute Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program in a combined research and clinical medicine role focused on brain injury.
Protected time for research is available for interested candidates. Mentorship and career-development support will be provided as needed. The opportunity is in the Division of Neurological Rehabilitation in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at MHS and Case Western Reserve University (CWRU).
- Clinical duties include the full spectrum of Brain Injury management: acute inpatient rehabilitation, acute hospital consultations, office-based evaluations, and procedures including chemodenervation and neurolysis.
- Academic responsibilities include education and training of Brain Injury Medicine fellows, PM&R residents, and Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) medical students.
- Contribute to the clinical and academic mission of the Metro Health Rehabilitation Institute Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program in a combined research and clinical medicine position.
- Academic appointment in PM&R will be commensurate to experience and qualifications.
- Board certification in PM&R.
- ACGME fellowship training in Brain Injury Medicine (BC/E).
- Academic appointment in PM&R commensurate to experience and qualifications.
Academically affiliated with the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, MHS includes a 355-bed academic medical center and is a Level I Trauma and Burn Center, a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Magnet–certified for nursing excellence. The Metro Health Center for Rehabilitation Research conducts cutting-edge rehabilitation research with substantial extramural funding. ACGME training programs include a PM&R residency and fellowships in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine, Brain Injury Medicine, and Pain Medicine.
The Department of PM&R at CWRU is based at MHS and is a leader in NIH funding awards.
