Assistant Finance BI Leader

Job Summary: Assistant Finance BI Leader assists with delivery and support of finance dashboards, automated reporting, data requests, complex financial models, issue resolution, and ad‑hoc analytics for FP&A and key Finance partners. The role serves as the deputy to the Finance BI Leader, managing priorities, coordinating work intake, removing blockers, and ensuring timely, high‑quality delivery across the portfolio. Strong finance acumen and technical expertise in Power BI and SQL are required.

Job Description: Self‑starter who operates with minimal supervision, owns outcomes, and proactively drives work forward. Provides regular status updates, surfaces risks, aligns stakeholders, documents decisions. Partners closely with IT, Finance, and internal customers to implement technology tools and data capabilities. Supports team development, workflow improvement, and a culture of continuous improvement.

• Assist Finance BI Leader with day‑to‑day team leadership, priority setting, intake management, and commitment tracking.
• Drive initiatives independently, identify next steps, remove blockers, and keep the Leader informed.
• Manage Power BI report requests, enhancements, data pulls, and process automation from requirements to deployment and support.
• Collaborate with business partners across IT, Finance Leadership, and other Finance pillars to improve analytics, reporting efficiency, and business outcomes.
• Work with FP&A and other Finance teams to define metrics, business rules, and reporting requirements.
• Establish and maintain BI development standards, user training, documentation, and repeatable workflows.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, align scope, timelines, and delivery dates; elevate risks and issues.
• Lead special projects and finance improvement initiatives, including cross‑functional implementations of new tools.
• Other duties as required.

• Coach, advise, and develop assigned staff within the Finance BI team.
• Support the Finance BI Leader in building team capability through training, documentation, and continuous improvement.
• Provide mentorship, Power BI/SQL best‑practice guidance, and review to ensure quality and consistency.

• Bachelor’s degree required; focus on Finance, Accounting, or Data/Analytics preferred.

• Finance experience: 5+ years in corporate finance, FP&A, or finance operations.
• Power BI experience: 3+ years building and supporting production dashboards.
• SQL experience: 2+ years writing queries and reports.
• Prior experience in professional services (accounting, financial services, advisory, banking) preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced Excel.
• Experience with One Stream, EPM, or Oracle ERP systems preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and coaching skills.
• Ability to work fast‑paced, multitask, and handle ambiguity.
• Strong attention to detail.

Individual salaries are determined after consideration of qualifications, experience, and geography.

National and Maryland: $120,000 – $140,000. NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $120,000 – $140,000.
