Key Responsibilities Tax Preparation & Compliance- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for the organization.
- Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate and organized tax records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with quarterly and annual tax provisions.
- Research tax laws, regulations, and rulings to determine their impact on the organization.
- Analyze financial data to identify tax savings opportunities and risk areas.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and communicate implications to management.
- Support tax planning initiatives to optimize the company’s tax position.
- Assist in developing strategies to minimize tax liabilities while maintaining compliance.
- Participate in forecasting and budgeting activities related to tax obligations.
- Assist with internal and external tax audits.
- Prepare schedules, respond to auditor inquiries, and provide necessary documentation.
- Ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
- Work with accounting, finance, and payroll teams to ensure accurate tax reporting.
- Provide guidance on tax‑related matters to internal stakeholders.
- Support month‑end and year‑end close processes as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Experience with tax preparation software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Public accounting or corporate tax experience.
- Familiarity with ASC 740 and tax provision calculations.
- Experience with multi‑state tax filings.
