• Ownership of complex secondary market and servicing accounting
• Direct exposure to mortgage servicing rights (MSRs), hedging, and capital markets activity

As Accounting Manager, you will oversee and execute accounting activities related to secondary market and servicing operations while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely close. You’ll apply professional judgment to complex transactions and provide leadership to a team of accounting professionals.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations for:
• Mortgage servicing rights (acquisition, valuation, amortization)
• Mortgage‑backed securities, repurchase agreements, TBAs, and Treasury securities
• Hedging strategies and ongoing servicing operations
• Ensuring accurate recognition of revenue and expenses, including servicing fees, cost of servicing, realized and unrealized gains/losses, and MSR valuations
• Reconciling cash activity and forecasting cash flows related to MSR purchases, margin calls, servicing advances, and hedge settlements
• Preparing and reviewing complex journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Performing detailed variance analysis and resolving discrepancies in collaboration with operational and branch leadership
• Leading month‑end close activities and ensuring deadlines are consistently met
• Supervising, reviewing, and coaching accounting staff while supporting career development and performance goals
• Contributing to special projects, process improvements, and broader accounting initiatives

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
• CPA or MBA strongly preferred
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting within financial services industry or experience in the capital markets or mortgage industries highly valued)
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to apply judgment to complex transactions
• Experience working with pricing models and financial analysis
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort working in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments
• A collaborative leader who can balance hands‑on work with team oversight
