Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

We are looking for a Controller to work for our client headquartered in Northeast Ohio. The ideal candidate will align with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

• Lead and optimize month-end close, payroll, and AP/AR processes
• Perform cost accounting and cost analysis
• Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger in accordance with GAAP and assure compliance with internal control policies and procedures
• Lead, support, and develop the accounting team while driving efficiency & automation to keep up with the demands of the company's high-growth business
• Actively coaches and develops staff to improve their skills, support their professional growth, and enhance the performance of the team
• Review the financial performance of all units and provides guidance on accounting policies and procedures
• Recommend and implement techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs, take advantage of opportunities, and maintain state-of-the-art practices
• Work collaboratively with others toward improving organizational performance and support goals and objectives of the organization
• Take lead and ownership in a variety of special projects

• Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
• 8+ years of financial and/or accounting experience
• Proven track record of increased responsibility
• Excellent technical accounting skills and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet hard deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
