A world-class industrial manufacturing leader is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their rapidly growing plant engineering team. You'll own mechanical scope for capital projects supporting advanced manufacturing operations—from equipment design and structural platforms to dust collection systems, material handling, equipment integration, project management, and production support. Work on diverse projects across a highly vertically integrated facility including electronics manufacturing, injection molding, robotic welding, powder coating, and advanced assembly.

- Lead mechanical engineering scope for capital projects in Cleveland manufacturing facilities
- Design equipment, structural platforms, mezzanines, and support structures using Solid Edge/Solid Works
- Engineer baghouse and industrial dust collection systems for welding fumes and particulate capture
- Design material handling systems including conveyors, tote systems, and automated material flow
- Integrate new equipment into existing production lines (brownfield projects)
- Develop capital cost estimates and project timelines for mechanical scope
- Manage mechanical installations, commissioning, and equipment startup
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting to Production and Maintenance departments
- Perform root cause analysis and engineer reliability improvements for legacy equipment
- Create engineering documentation including calculations, drawings, specifications, and SOPs
- Work with and manage outside engineering firms and construction contractors
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Perform hands‑on work on production floors during installations and commissioning
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
- Solid Edge or Solid Works experience (team uses Solid Edge, wants to move to Solid Works)
- FEA (Finite Element Analysis) capability for structural or thermal analysis
- Manufacturing end‑user background in heavy industry
- Capital project management with budgets $500K+
- Metals manufacturing, welding, automotive, or heavy equipment experience
- Experience designing in brownfield environments (working around existing operations)
- Material handling and conveyor system design
- Root cause analysis and reliability engineering
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma exposure
- PE (Professional Engineer) license
- Ability to work hands‑on in production environments
- Occasional off-shift work for installations and commissioning
