Wright Technical Services is representing an industry-leading advanced manufacturing organization seeking a Digital Controls / Firmware Senior Engineer to support the development, optimization, and validation of embedded firmware for high-performance industrial control platforms. These systems support advanced manufacturing, power electronics, and energy related applications.
This role is ideal for an experienced embedded engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working cross-functionally with hardware and controls teams, and contributing to next-generation product development while influencing technical design decisions.
Responsibilities- Design and develop embedded firmware in C/C++ for microcontroller and DSP-based systems
- Contribute to firmware architecture design for subsystems or full product platforms
- Implement and tune digital control loops, filters, and compensators for real-time control applications
- Analyze system and test data to validate firmware performance and identify optimization opportunities
- Support hardware bring-up, prototype evaluation, and system debugging activities
- Perform root cause analysis on firmware and hardware interaction issues
- Document firmware architecture, behavior, and validation results
- Collaborate with hardware, power electronics, controls, and software teams to ensure system-level performance
- Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement of engineering processes
- Lead or support project tasks or technical work streams within larger development programs
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
- 5+ years of experience developing embedded firmware using C/C++ in real-time operating environments
- Experience using lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience with power electronics, industrial equipment, welding systems, or motor control applications
- Exposure to FPGA development (VHDL preferred)
- Experience using Python for automation, testing, or data analysis

Compensation: $100,000-$145,000 per year
