Field Service Engineer – Cleveland, OH

We are looking for a qualified, hands‑on, service‑oriented technician to support critical power facilities. This position will be based out of the Cleveland, OH area. The role involves automatic transfer switch startups, modifications, warranty and emergency calls, and offers opportunities to advance to the Field Service Engineer level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry a cell phone and be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Work on automatic transfer switches, providing technical support for field startups (standard and non‑standard systems), warranty efforts, remedial repairs, and preventative maintenance contracts.
  • Supervise and ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, guidelines and laws.
  • Communicate with clients in a highly customer‑service oriented manner, expanding project scope and negotiating any extra charges associated with work performed.
  • Conduct all work and decisions in strict compliance with all regulatory laws.
  • Travel up to 80 % of the time.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • 3+ years of experience in field service engineering for critical power facilities (data centers, airports, etc.).
  • Experience with most types of automatic transfer switch testing.
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints for power control, automation and customer technical support.
  • Familiarity with all applicable codes and industry standards.
  • Proficient in client interactions and completing projects on time and within budget guidelines.
  • Strong project management, excellent decision‑making, organization and management capabilities.
  • Self‑directed and very committed to customer satisfaction.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of field service within the power distribution / protection industry.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Excellent customer service, time management and follow‑up skills.
  • Knowledge of power distribution, DC/AC, voltage circuit theory and practical troubleshooting skills.

  • The pay range for this position is $57,120 – $97,920 plus travel and overtime. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and geographic location. The position may be filled at a higher or lower level.
