Job DescriptionSeeking a motivated Civil/Structural Designer to support multidisciplinary project teams with drafting, modeling, and design layout activities. This is a design-focused role well-suited for candidates with a drafting or technical design background who enjoy producing high-quality drawings and supporting industrial and infrastructure projects across multiple sectors. This position offers mentorship, career development, and exposure to modern tools and technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Produce civil and structural design drawings using CAD and BIM software
- Assist with foundations, framing, site layouts, and related design features
- Support drawing preparation to meet applicable codes and constructability standards
- Collect and interpret field data including measurements and existing conditions
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure coordinated design deliverables
- Utilize and learn modern technologies such as GPS surveying, laser scanning, and BIM workflows
- Perform occasional travel for meetings, field measurements, and data gathering
- Maintain accuracy, organization, and quality across all design outputs
- 2–5 years of drafting experience in civil/structural design (new graduates encouraged to apply)
- Associate or vocational degree in Computer-Aided Drafting & Design (CADD) or related field, or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD; exposure to Civil 3D, Revit, or Navisworks is a plus
- Ability to learn new software tools, technologies, and field practices
- Strong attention to detail with ability to identify design discrepancies
- Ability to commute reliably to the Akron office; remote-only not available
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work safely in field environments
- Effective communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
