Mechanical Engineer

Actalent is looking for a Mechanical Engineer. This person will be responsible for the following:

Job Description

* Reviews and evaluates sales order requirements pecifications to configure and r develop solutions

* Works with Sales and potentially the customer to resolve requirements

* Works with Electrical Engineers and Drafting to produce customer drawings

* Acts as the technical lead on assigned projects

* Works with internal groups such as Assembly, Procurement and field technicians during start up to resolve issues

* Works with Sales and Applications Engineering

* Approves project release to Manufacturing

* Works with Assembly and Test departments to resolve issues encountered during build est

* Work as part of a project team to deliver cost effective, manufacturable designs

* Provide updates on project status and timeline

Must Have

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required

* 5+ years in some of the following:

* Designing and developing electro mechanical equipment

* Designing sheet metal products

* Experience with development, design and engineering of mechanical lectrical systems using both 2

Dand 3D CAD software (Creo preferred)

* Experience with OEM design activities

* Experience with bill of materials (BOMs)

* Experience with casting, compressors, pumps and/or motors

* Project management experience

Nice to Have

* Electrical testing experience

* Knowledge in noise attenuation (fan silencers)

* Customer interfacing experience

* Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) experience

* Understanding of seismic, wind and vibration calculations

Work Environment

Recently opened a new office near the manufacturing facility. They will be working on a team with a dozen engineers. 90% of their day will be spent at a desk. 10% will be on the floor.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $58.00/hr.
